I would like to hear your views on people who rp as half dragons. A long time ago, it was said that no-one should rp as a half dragon, but ive met some hardcore RPers who seem like they can realy pul it off. So, give me your views. yes or no. and tel us why.

Well I dont rp as half dragon I just rp as a Netherdrake in a lbood elf form (unlike some I chose a flight that actualy turnsinto blood elves normaly). and I guess I chose to do so simply because I enjoy keeping it ICly a secret as also unlike some I dont advertise it to the world in my rp although I do ocasionaly give a hint to people I rp with alot.

Yes if, and only if, the person can pull it off. Which many, many people cannot. Within WoW, I find the entire concept backwards. If you RP a dragon correctly, you will never show anyone you're a dragon which... defies the point of being a dragon, does it not? *shrugs*

For the sake of my sanity, please do tell me that is a joke? EDIT: To express my thoughts, it's boring and stale. The whole idea is counter-productive as the result of being a half-dragon adds a lot of new and strong abilities. However, you must NEVER under ANY circumstances show them to anyone. So, truly, what is the point? A secret satisfaction that your skin is in fact part scaly?

Someone told me: "You can't PR a dragon, because you can never be that powerfull." What do you think about this statement?

Someone told me: "You can't PR a dragon, because you can never be that powerfull." What do you think about this statement? Roleplaying is a give and take game, by roleplaying such an enormously powerful creature, you cannot simply hope people will abide to that. They're quite free to ignore these self-instated powers, and frankly, unless they accept you to have them, you don't. Hence, it's always a game of diplomacy. Technically, you can RP a dragon, sure, if you don't use your powers, since then the entire server(or at least those you decide to present them to) would have to agree to them existing. See the give and take? They give, you TAKE. It has to be a balance there, everyone has their ego. ANd by going RAWRMIGHTYDRAGON, you're killing theirs'. Zhat'z the truth.

Personnaly i don't mind people RP'ing dragons. Might actually try it out my self sometime. The thing that appeals me is that you know there is more to your character than you see at first glance. In addition I think it is a challenge. Dragons have a whole different perspective on how the world works, RP'ing that seems interesting.

The problem I have with "half" dragons is that why the hell would a dragon have a baby with a mortal?
Dragons are ancient and wise. You can argue that a dragon had a child when in a mortal disguise, but I'm afraid, for me, that just doesn't cut it. Some Dragonflights (the red, for example) have a deep respect for life, this is true. But they do view mortal races as children. Lesser, even. Stupid. In need of guidance. To interbreed would be wrong, in their eyes.
As for the Black Dragonflight, some would say 'WELL THEYRE EVIL I BET THEYD RAPE AN ELF'. No. The Black Dragonflight might be 'evil', true. But if you notice the questgiver NPC talk in Dragonflight, it shows their attitude perfectly. They would never have a child with a mortal. To them, they are far, far above that. To interbreed would be an insult to their dragonflight. Arrogant sods, they are.
So, say all you want about 'HOW A DRAGON MIGHT FALL IN LOVE WITH AN ELF', I see no reason as to why an ancient reptilian species would want to dip their wicks in a warm blooded mammal.
Besides, I don't think it's even possible. Are there any lore examples of half Dragons? I don't recall any. I may be wrong.
As for 'whole' dragon RP. Well. To each his own. Not my cup of tea, but there you have it.
